Win Programing Failures

So coming back from vacation to a Jeep that my tech has tried to program after a WIN module replacement. WIN replaced for an intermittent no start. 

First WIN replaced, and keys will not program, my service writer orders 2 new keys. Still gets error message that key programming fails, and a new fault for for the steering column lock has an internal fault. A ESCL module ordered, and still no luck programming, still reports ESCL internal fault and key programming failure. A little research later, we find a procedure in alldata that states the WIN and ESCL must be replaced as a set. New WIN and another ESCL ordered and installed. Tech follows proceedure in alldata, and keys still fail to program and ESCL has more internal faults, and WIN is now in lockout mode. At this point I have a pile of new parts that are useless, and I am trying to determine what went wrong and how to go about getting this vehicle fixed. Question- are 2 WIN modules and 2 ESCL's permanently ruined? Does anyone know the proper procedure to replace the WIN module? Do I need 2 virgin keys, another WIN module, and another new ESCL to move forward? I have programmed quite a few keys for Jeeps/ Chryslers and never run into anything like this- if anyone can offer a little guidance I'd appreciate it.

What are you using to program them? I always suggest a win and 2 virgin keys. 1st lets get it out of lockout. install battery charger, turn key to run position. Ignore for at least an hour. If you are using witech or J2534 I would run the WIN replaced function. Then do a restore vehicle configuration allow to set for 15 minutes before programming keys. Also is it a push button or a…

Hi Sam, I am using witech, w/ current software and subscription, I will order 2 virgin keys, and it is a push button system, I'll have them tomorrow, and I will restore the vehicle.

Where are you getting your PIN code from? I am not 100% sure but if the dealer is providing the PIN code it may not work. They use Dealer Connect and we use tech authority in the aftermarket world. You may need a PIN code sourced from moparkeycode​.​com which requires an NASTF LSID to purchase. Again I don’t know when the cutoff date is for dealer PIN codes, but if WIN is going to…

Sam and Ben are correct. Also I assume when you say "virgin keys" they are OE from the dealer?? If they are not OE from dealer they probably wont work. I personally have had nothing but problems with aftermarket keys.

These are brand new keys from local Mopar dealer-(Aftermarket keys just seem to just waste time) and the PIN was from them as well, i'm a VSP so I can verify the PIN is correct before I try again. I will try Sam's method first and try and get it out of lockout, I should know something later today,
