ML500 Ride height calibration
We have ROMUS for our hunter alignment setup.we have 2 different autologic scan tools as well as an AUTEL. Air ride is communicating and able to lift/lower 4 corners with them. Able to go through calibration process but when selecting transfer(complete/last step) message /error pops up stating unable to calibrate. Not sure what’s going on any ideas or sugg would be great…thanks
Had one like this come in with an air leak on the bags. After seeing I would need to calibrate and I did not have the stuff for calibration. I was not sure the Autel would perform it correctly either. So I sent it down the road. I am glad I did after reading your post, I made the right call.
Is the same issue occurring with all 3 different tools?
Dump all 4 corners. Dump reservoir. Refill reservoir. Fill left rear bag first. Should fill FAST. Left rear goes bad all the time. If it fills, watch to see if it drops. Most likely it will.
The last mercedes I did had two damages sensor from tow hooks on the rear axle, but in order to complete the calibration I used an Autel and Matco scanner. Some reason each tool had an issue completing the calibration, so I changed tools for each calibration and it work.
Steven - why was this procedure being preformed? Have parts been replaced?? Are there any faults setting in the Airmatic module? I generally use our Autel for this procedure with no issues. Is yours fully updated?
if you already know the ride height inclination angles the module wants to see and you keep hitting this wall where the module or tool is not happy with the inputs, then try a little cheating. what i mean by this is that the calibration process is double-checked against an internal algorithm. so if the known front inclination is, for example, 1° - 1.8° then try this 1+1.8=2.8 2.8/2(for the…
Joseph your tip is valid for sure I'll admit I have done some similar cheating on these systems to get a pass as well…
Well ladies and gentlemen the ML also had a 2A draw so after a couple of hours of wire tracing came down to the front SAM(no corrosion on connections/pins or water intrusion). needed to access CAN lines on SAM( buried next to worlds largest battery) so said I’ll take plastic case off just for giggles, to find massive amounts of CORROSION, again no evidence externally. Replaced front SAM as well…
