Witech 2.0/Techauthority issues
Is anyone else having server issues with Witech/Techauthority today? It took me about 45 minutes this morning to get a subscription to go through and this afternoon I cannot get communication through Witech 2.0
I've tried different methods, wifi, hard line, and nothing seems to work. Ping and Tracert both time out when trying Techauthority.
Western Oregon about 13:00
There must have been a problem on their end. After couple of hours of trying everything suddenly started working and I was successfully able to program the pcm.
I stared at WiTech 2.0 for about 45 minutes on a 2019 Wrangler that needed an ECM update before I gave up and flashed it a different way. (About 6pm AZ time.) 3 or 4 reboots and no change - the “4 wheels” on the right just spun until the read “0” even though there definately were flashes and DTCs present. At least it ID'ed the vehicle correctly.
I'm always hesitant to just post about a possible downtime, but I figure there would be more in my situation that might help with information that is planning my day. Is this a constant outage all day? After drving 30-45 minutes to a job and already have a subscription running for it do I wait for hours hoping things come up? Bail on my customer (shop owner) who's already told their vehicle…
Matthew I wish we had a guy like you who could come around and take care of programing and possibly some diagnostic work. The only options we have are to do it ourselves, easy on Ford not so much anything else, or use a RAP box which for one reason or another only seems to work about half the time. I guess we could send it to the dealer but they are backed up for weeks. Kudos to you for having…
I feel your pain. All you can do is have contingency plans. I keep a “hacked” WiTech v17 and an “old” WiPod and MicroPod. Then I have an Abrites box and a bench-flash setup. In the case of this Wrangler, after I realized I was gonna be stuck, I fired up the bench setup.
