DN Member Search / Locator?
I received an e-mail requesting something from me referenced in one of the DN Discussions in which I was a participant. However, I don't recognise the person's name nor have I ever sent or received any e-mails from this person. I don't feel comfortable sharing stuff with people I don't know, especially if it's something that may be used against me (like unknowingly sharing copyrighted info, etc.).
I searched DN for the person's name and their e-mail address without success.
Is there a DN Member Search function that we can use?
I had email in about a member search and location of members if they wanted to share it. Also maybe a way to send members a message which you would then know maybe who this person was sending you a message instead of a random email. I was told this was something that was on the list to complete. Chris
Yep, we also have sketched out plans for private messaging, so members can directly contact each other without having to reveal their private email addresses. This is high on our list.
Chris, Thanks for replying (I think).
Hi Jaime, The short answer is no, not yet, but if you email … with the person you're looking for, we could send you a link to their profile on DN, if they're a member. The longer answer is we've built the framework for a member locator, its first use being the invitation system that we just released. For most members if you're inviting someone, it just asks you to provide email…
Thanks Tom! I e-mailed you and Scott with the information.
Hi Jaime, The search function will only reveal the member if they've posted to the site. If you'd like to contact us through support we can dig into this further for you. … As far as a member search, yes, this is something we'd like to do in the future as we've had this request come up in the past.
