JLR PATHFINDER and Drewtech CarDaq Plus 3
Just wanted to ask if anyone has given CDP3 from Drew Technologies a try with OFFICIAL online Pathfinder software. And if they managed to have communications to vehicles.
Pathfinder is for (if i recall correctly), vehicles for 2017 cars and onward, as they have DoIP on them as communication network. CDP3 supports DoIP, but i didn't manage to communicate with the test vehicle i had.
Now, the issue is i am unsure if i did something wrong with installation/configuration etc. So i am unsure of what really happened. The installation at the time was a fresh install, had never previously had any experience with Pathfinder, and had no "pre-DoIP" cars at hand to test with SDD if communications were ok or not (confirming that install etc were ok, at least for SDD ).
Paul, Pathfinder uses PDU API instead of J2534, which is not natively supported by the CarDAQ Plus 3. You may have been able to select the CarDAQ Plus 3 in Pathfinder, but that was through the Drewtech Tech2Win driver, which is a PDU to J2534 driver. That driver was not designed to work with Pathfinder and will not work as the GM and JLR implementations of PDU are very different.
Thanks for the info David. Are there any workarounds for this? Or can anything in general be done for this? Or even a different product of Drew Technologies, that could work with Pathfinder? Or CDP3 will not be able to ever operate with Pathfinder? I love my CDP3. Its a true champion on my toolbox and has never let me down. I consider the Pathfinder case a minor issue. Though i would love if…
Paul, No workaround at this time. No other Opus IVS product currently supports Pathfinder. We are looking at the effort required to resolve this issue, but there is not a schedule for resolving this concern yet.
