Crank No Start Suspect Timing Off Looking For Pattern For 2018
This vehicle has been around the block with 9k on the clock. Auction vehicle crank no start, The Nissan dealer told shop that engine was bad, so shop replaced engine with used engine out of a 2017, back to the the dealer and they sold the shop a ECM. Still crank no start, So I was called out to help.
No Dtc's stored, we do have cranking RPM.
Scoped out Crank and Cams and in cylinder on #4
I am looking for known good cam and crank patterns as I am retracing the basics on this vehicle.
I have read and heard multiple times about Nissan's being extremely sensitive to timing issues, that is why I am looking for known good pattern.
Any ideas welcome and appreciated!
I will poke around to see if I can find a known good. But how is this car not still under warranty with the dealer? Does it have a salvage title or something? Any idea what was wrong with the first engine? Chris
auction vehicle of course no history dealer will not perfoem warranty work must be blocked title / flood etc.! Found known good check it out must be wrong engine.
OK update found a '18 on the lot same year but this runs good. Here is capture at idle I will post in resources as well.diag.net/file/f76ea2tsb… totally different Cam patterns, must be wrong engine installed. diag.net/file/fn6jwr9g9…diag.net/file/f76ea2tsb…
Yea I was wondering if that was going to be the issue. I first looked into the crank sensor gear but those were the same. I thought it was odd that the exhaust cam only had one hump. That's funny how that lead to a ECM at the dealer it should have been a easy find for them.
A little late to the party, but All Data provides a sample cam and crank waveform for many Nissan vehicles, this one included ;)
