Service Emissions System Warning Reset
this vehicle was at another shop, no record of what was done other than “performed a regen”
no codes were active initially, attempted reductant system service bay test and code for downstream NOx sensor set. replaced sensor and attempted test again. this time test says it passed but warning is still on dash. I repeated the test twice and it passed both times. i know these can be a pain to reset to full-size trucks but i haven't had to reset one on the 2.8L engines. there isnt a reductant quality test available on our snap-on scan tool but there usually is with the full-sized trucks. would GDS2 have this test possibly?
there is a thread on here for resetting this warning on a full-sized pick-up and ive tried everything in that thread, the one key difference ive found is with this truck there's an ambient air temp sensor reset that needs to be performed before the service bay test. ive tried that also and still unsuccessful.
Is there a scan tool test on this model that say “reductant system mal warning test” if so run it ans see if it clears pip4976 refers to 202 duramaxs …see if that helps
Yes. Ive done it 5 times now and it passes every time but the warning is still present
Hi Austin, Is there a drive cycle procedure or sequence required after repairs? Just a thought. I know many manufacturers have these requirements. I see it a lot with Ford models I deal with.
ive looked all thru shopkey. after the NOX sensor install it says refer to emissions system service section, or something along those lines. and that where i found the malfunction service bay reset test. which 9 out of 10 times works. it will pass the test but the warning stays on the dash
