Driving down freeway and you lose throttle control . Pull over cycle key and all is fine . No codes stored. Has happened three times in last two days . has any body seen this before im thinking throttle body.
I carry a spare in my 2015 F-150. It has been the throttle body 3 times. It usually freaks out the IC with a plethora of alerts.
Ya that's what I thought brand new from ford only $65.00 cheap. Must be a problem if they are selling them this cheap .
Glen, All replacements came from the dealer. First died in Las Vegas, Second 50 miles from the closest town in Wyoming and the third in Belgrade, Montana. I have become very good in changing them. Down to about 15 minutes. The vehicle has 212,000 Miles. Usually die about 65K to 70K miles each time. One flat died, the other two gave me some warning. What made me mad was in three years there was…
Mike, What, no interesting pictures of the insides ;) Now that I think about it I think I have pictures of one from a EcoBoost that I took a part. I can't remember the what I thought was actual cause of failure, I'll have to do digging if I get a chance. If I remember correctly at the time they were on backorder.
If I can find the receipt for this one I think it is still under 2 years. Don't want to kill my warrantee. The one I took apart had some dust and oil film in it. I sent it to Dorman to check out. I think the turbo pressure pushes contamination into the electronics and wreaks havoc. It is all set on a timer so it makes it past 50K then it can let loose. -Mike
I have seen faulty alternators perform such feats.
Amperage measured with an amp clamp.
No ac ripple did not check amperage because volts were ok . Car has only 67k on it . And all this would still not explain no codes for throttle control . Ford has big problem with throttle body that is why you can by oe for $65.00
