TechAuthority Login
I can't log in to TechAuthority via Witech, anyone else having a problem?
Just performed a mandatory update on the pod.
O.K. , just found out why. You must have a paid TechAuthority sub to login now.
I thought it was just for Techtools and SI but now no viewing TSB's , flashing, etc. with Witech without a
Techauthority sub.
just use a j2534 , download file & flash. You can Purchase one day subscription. Simple!
Something has changed as I just updated Wi Tech. to 8.4_22 diag.net/file/f113ttnyg…
Brian I was informed today that is the new protocol.. they are now making you get the TA token and then get an additional Token to log into TA from WiTech. Pretty ridiculous when waiting for tokens takes up to an hour, at least for me. Spent 2.5 hours dealing with this today to do a 5 Min Proxi Align on a 14 Cherokee.
Yes, just had to add a tech authority subscription to program a TCM just now. Now they want a token to program!! This is rediculous!! Their token system is a disaster!!
Major outage right now. Link has witech status. fcawitech.statuspage.io/?fbclid=IwAR34…
I had no problem logging into wiTECH2.0, but I had to wait almost an hour for the verification token.
Benjamin, I was getting calls and emails from mobile guys all over the country today concerning the WiTech and token issue today. Seems they added a new wrinkle with the pod update. More fun and games to overcome as a mobile guy where we depend on our tools being operational and time is paramount. Luckily, I did not have any FCA products today. Would have been nice for FCA to send a statement…
What is this Token verification that everyone is talking about? I did a wiTECH2 and techauthority sub last week. I logged in with google authenticator as usual. No Token required that I know of. The one thing that was different was that the system would not find my device unless I had the micropod setup program running. As long as that was running everything worked fine. If I closed the setup…
Bob Powell, you did not need a Tech Authority subscription to program anything on wiTECH2.0 before today. It would ask for your login info and that was it. Now you must have a current Tech Authority subscription. Then when you enter your Tech Authority login credentials it states “a security token has been emailed. Please enter the security token.” Or something similar. It is the same as if you…
Oh boy, something else to look forward too.
Are these tokens for short term TA subs? I have never had to use a token. We pay for a yearly sub though.
I am not having issues with wi tech, just the tech authority site for SI or downloading cal ids for older vehicles. I have been complaining about this for so long and so much that TA actually contacted me via phone today. They say they are looking into my particular issue for the delay in tokens but do not know whats going on as we did experiments with them sending me tokens and they saw via my…
Brian this happens to everyone!! I have rarely received a token sooner than 30 minutes. It’s rediculous. Many times it takes up to an hour!
I receive mine almost immediately. To me the discrepancy in receiving emails is mind bogghlin. g The only issue of concern to me is that Witech, for what I want it to do, is broken.
I know it is ridiculous, I finally after many emails (I make a point to compliant often, and I am starting to use threatening language, NASTF ,bbb etc as last resort) they finally are investigating the issue or so they say.
I think they have closed a loophole that some of us have been unintentionally exploiting. You could flash with Witech without TA sub. Not no more.
I filed an SIR about the verification token a while back. It was expired by the time I got it. Now FCA allows 5 hours before the token expires. That’s not enough though. If I have to wait 35-45 minutes for a token to show up in my email that’s a problem! We all need to file SIR’s about this until they can get token’s out instantly. GM does a phenomenal job at this.
That loophole was nice while it lasted
I’m sorry but filing SIR’s is not getting anything done. I would like to hear from anyone who filed one and found a resolution from that action.
I feel your pain! Called to a shop that replaced the EPB module in a 14 Cherokee arrived at the shop hooked up my Pod logged into Witech and boom the fun began. Could not log into TA again could not log into WiTech kept getting an error message telling me my subscription was expired. Called TA was told your active, right no kidding. Finally got logged into TA waited 55 mins for my sweet token to…
This is madness. These OE's have to stop with this. It seems like nothing is ever beta tested for issues before releasing. TA token issue has been an issue for months. TA will always give you every excuse they have your email, your internet provider, etc. It is never their fault. That seems to be the blanket statement for most OE's. It is always OUR fault. I have had issues with TA website not…
John I feel that we (the aftermarket) are their beta testing , before they release their new security standards to their dealerships. I know the mobile business takes a hit hard with this stuff, I am trying to demonstrate to shops training on programming / j box usage, I cringe when I have to use TA as its a coin toss as to the wait time/ if it will even work.
Brian, I agree wholeheartedly with your statement on beta testing. When the IDS issue was going on it mostly affected us in the aftermarket because of the model year vehicles it affected. That is why they were slow to rectify it. Again, the man hours and revenue lost has to be accounted for in these situations. This is my business. This is not a game to me. Until the OE's can be held…
Just had the same problem, now it will really become expensive to just clear codes on this vehicles. it would not even allow me to reset history codes on all modules.
I think FCA must have been watching Ford and GM screw up perfectly good systems and thought hey we can do that too.
Me and the Dude from AE Tools got it to work ( great service btw) and I was able to make it work on my 2010 Caravan service van. It's like: Valid TA sub Login to the TA site Wait for token, came fast Login to TA open Witech, login,Witech requests token, access email, copy and paste token and away you go. But when it came to actually doing any real work, I was only able to login to TA with…
This is what happens when I attempt to login. I get the wait icon forever.
Hi Brian, my problem is quite the opposite. As of today, I have been unableto gain access to flashing and TSB's etc. through Witech.
Same issue on my end with the included wait time for a token. Ended up contacting AE tools as you did today they were great and I was finally able to get the job done. Can you let us know if you get more information on logging into TA through Witech. I am doing a Fiat in the morning I’m sure I’ll be hours there waiting for tokens and not being able to log in.
Sure Joe, here's more: FCA's or Witechs server or whatever is not recognizing short term, ie: 24 hour subs. That is what I have been told by the boys at AE.
I do enough to warrant a yearly sub purchase but I am just going to wait and see.
Thanks Todd. Had another adventure today with it, PCM update on a 16 Fiat was at the shop a couple hours trying to get logged into TA through WiTech. Spent a good amount of time on the phone with WiTech Engineering AE Tools and IT. That is the word I got as well. I am in the same boat as you buddy. I can justify the long term sub but just wanted to see if things change. I was advised things are…
I was able to use wi tech and log into TA via wi tech yesterday no problem, and received the token quickly around 10am EST, Then around 3pm I tried again, no token till 6pm I am using short term subs.
