Programing TCM
We put a new jasper transmission in and now i try to program it with sps2 and my j box. The option it gives me is ECM/TCM if i go there it says sequential programing. The ECM is up to date TCM unknown calibration, but the next button stays red and wont let me continue. I guess because the ECM is up to date? Thanks for the help
Depending on RPO codes, it may have a separate TCM programming option (I believe if M5U).
Can you communicate with the TCM? I always pull codes, even with new TCM's usally a “not programmed” code. If you can't communicate with the module, how can you program it? I've seen both cases, where you can find TCM in the SPS list and some with just the TCM/ECU on the programming list. The TCM item just programs the TCM, the TCM/ECU item wants the ECU to be updated so the TCM updates will…
First mistake buying anything from jasper haha, so a week ago I programmed a new tcm on a 2017 Silverado it was weird because there was no programming option under tcm module so I kept searching and I selected program without RPO code didn’t know that was possible but it did programmed it under 10 minutes
Where did you find the option to program without RPO? Was that one you passed the screen where you select the tcm ?
Sorry i actually did it all through powertrain management or pcm and only programmed the transmission
Even if its the same calibration you should be able to program it with replace & program.
Use “Replace and Program” selection instead of “Reprogram”. Then you’ll have to select the calibration file to install if there are any red X’s on the calibration selection screen. Should continue from there just fine
I think i missed one of the red x hidden away, looks like it is working now!!
Thanks for all the help, i did not check all the red x on the ecm side of things, once i did everything went smooth. THANKS
I read that you had your problem solved no need for my reply
