Need to reprogram TCM. Ignition turns off When key is in on position for an extended period of time. How Do I turn off battery saver mode? I've done it before on another Nissan through instrument cluster “vehicle settings”. Cant find it here. Using NER'S software.
Jo Leave a the passenger door open it should cancel the battery saver feature. If your concerned about the lights being on in the vehicle while doing your programming switch your interior room lights to off. Hope that helps you. Joe
Pretty sure if you turn the 4-way flashers on it will keep the ignition in the on position too. That's what i usually do if in doubt.
I have done a ton of these and this is what I have found. If you are programming these, it won’t induce the battery saver mode. I always have the hood open, a maintainer around 13.5V, and use Consult 3+ with VI2.
Using NER's software takes MUCH longer to program. With hood & drivers door open. Battery maintainer on 14.5 volts, battery saver DOES get induced. Came across this several times. I have been able to turn off “Battery Saver ” through “Vehicle Settings ” in instrument cluster. If you're using Ner's, I would heed to this information. I learned a few months ago when the battery saver turned…
Jo, I was unaware of this issue with NERS. Sorry to hear that it bit you. I use C3 Plus with a factory VI. The typical TCM update takes approximately 10 minutes to complete with C3 Plus.
John, Have you done any cluster updates? How long does it take with consult? I did one with J2534 awhile back and it took a stupid long time. Over an hour and a half if I remember correctly.
Bob, Good Morning. Hope all is well. I do a fair amount of Nissan programming but have yet to do an Instrument Cluster update. Is there a specific year and model that has an update? Many Nissan update programs that are not powertrain related will have special software or tooling to make them work such as the airbag module update to re zero on later model Nissan vehicles. There is a BCM…
The error that was shown is due to high battery voltage. You can not program a Nissan at 14.5 V on a maintainer.
