No Start Vehicle Dead

2014 Ford mustang towed into my shop dead, push button start check 12 V batteries , checked all the fuses under the hood and smart junction box right side kick panel, checked all the major grounds ,Push button start not responding instrument cluster dead power locks windows remote key fob is dead Domelight map lights exterior headlights four-way flashers dead plugged in cheap Alltel scanner, no communication so I did a manual vehicle entry complete scan vehicle BCM responds U codes no communication with the rest of the car, background story is this vehicle was rear ended in a collision bodyshop repaired rear panel trunk lid rear bumper tail lights the vehicle started and drove no issues, after the collision repair they sent a vehicle to a ADAS shop for rear camera calibration, Car drove in and never ran again, So I hooked up IDS diagnostic session, After not recognizing the car I entered a tear tag number, , And selected as built data and reprogram the body control module, The whole car came to life I did not have to do that that security key fobs or the TPMS pressures sensors, At the end the Eight Is shop admitted they attempted to reprogram the whole vehicle with a AUTEL Maxi system. Not knowing what they're doing or how vehicle computer system works somehow they deleted all of the data out of the BCM, The funny thing is after I got the car running the back up camera did not work the wires at the trunk hinge were cut broken, in the plastic loom exactly how to TSB described on this vehicle youtu.be/QTsXMwXCmRY

Was the ADAS shop as you say, a large corporate owned location? I have an ADAS calibration center as well as run mobile services including electrical repair and module programming. Yes, I do know how to use the OEM tools and have personally programmed over 11,000 vehicles of most makes. So, please don't make it sound as if an ADAS shop is incompetent, there are plenty of auto shops of all types…

HI I'm not here to criticize or blame anybody the point of the story was simply to rebuild a car through the as built data and tear tag number without changing any parts, So if other shops get into a similar issue it could be helpful information,

Just seemed like you were ripping the ADAS shop, this particular one obviously needs ripping into, my point was that it could be any shop. Too many out there who really have no clue. Believe me I have been to many of them, just wish some would realize their limitations and pass on some of the vehicles that they are not qualified to attempt repairs.

I agree with you about varying competence levels. OTOH, there isn't any real schooling that you can take that covers flashing all the different makes and models/modules. The info is sometimes difficult to find. Some of the translations in the manuals have poorly translated stuff with the Asian vehicles and Euro is almost always worse. I've been doing it for quite a while, and there's stuff…

11k?! How long have you been flashing vehicles?! That's like 5/day, every day, for over ten years… I mean, you must have a lock on all the flashing in San Antone…

Not counting the flashing I did when I worked for several OEM dealers, Domestic and Asian, and the time I spent with Bosch Launch Tech, and Autologic as a diagnostic sales rep and trainer, I have been operating my own B2B mobile service company since 2008. I have done many other services other than flashing, such as locksmith work and throttle body relearns on Nissans over the years. Due to…
