I Highly doubt that this vehicle came w no Immo… Check your key, im pretty sure it has a 4D67 chip in it…..as well, one could check for the antenna signal while the key is inserted….confirming it Indeed has Immo.

I have verified that this vehicle has no immobilizer. Call dealer and check with VIN they say it never had it. Also check VIN on used ECM with dealer and got the same answer. We went a little further to verified the vehicle has no immobilizer antenna or module. Therefore I'm pretty sure this vehicle has no immobilizer.. We did try a handshake procedure thinking it did have an immobilizer at the…

Yes the 2008 Rav4 can come with No Immo. Its not uncommon at all. Fist verify if your rav4 has one or not by looking around the ignition for the antenna. The used ecu you purchased come from a vehicle with an immobilizer so its programmed to look for one. This is not cleared by programming to the VIN. Try what Avishay mentions and if that doesnt work, This is easily fixed if you still have…

Tommy, You will need to take information from original ECU and move to your Donor. The MCU or EEPROM will need to be programmed as a non-immobilizer ECU.

Dear sir Check this website There are two options for this vehicle: I think our vehicle here of with immobiliser. toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_2008… 89780 COMPUTER ASSY, TRANSPONDER KEY … ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM-WITH(IMMOBILIZER) I'm not sure that vehicle has no immobiliser. It has because of that code B2799, either remove the security chip from original ECM and fix it…

I have come across this. What I did was buy a ecm from a rav4 that also did not use an immobilezer. you can verify this by using the vin from the donor vehicle. Call Toyota with the donor vehicles vin and ask them if it has an immobilezer.

Dear sir I think this is the point, your vehicle attached with an immobiliser system while the donor's vehicle didn't has. New ECM from the donor' vehicle didn't matching your vehicle. Could you please send the vin for donor vehicle please ?

I take it you got the VIN for the used ECM by reading it with a scan tool. Perhaps someone electronically wrote a different VIN in the used ECM …a VIN different from the ECM's original VIN…and the used ECM's factory original VIN was for a RAV4 with immobilizer.

After talking to several people I got another used ecm supposedly a non immobilizer vehicle and this one worked. Even though the first one's VIN number read to be a non immobilizer one as well, we have to assume someone has already gotten this one from a immobilizer vehicle.. and wrote another vin into it. Thanks again for all the help.

It could have been from an non-immo vehicle but once if it was tried to be installed in one with an immobilizer it would activate. Or someone else tried to install it in a non-immo vehicle and changed the vin just like you did. In the future if you have this problem its pretty easy to clear the immobilizer from them so they can be used like normal.
