Launch X431 error message
Greeting All; I have the Launch X431 Diagzone that I purchased from a 3rd party vendor that I downloaded and use on my phone. I've been using it for over a year now with no problems. But the other day my phone crashed and I had to re-download and install the program again. But now it has this error message just as it's connecting to the vehicle which says:
"Disaccording with the serial No. and Smartbox serial No. Please d/l and upgrade again." The vendor gave me the program again to download and upgrade but that didn't solve anything. My question is, has anyone come across this and know what Smartbox is?
Thinking about it is smartbox referring to the dongle?

Launch products do have a unique hardware ID that has to match with the corresponding software ID. Basically your hardware and software ID's do not match/coincide.
Yes I realize that but it's the same ID's that I've used before with no problem! My vendor says that I need to download all of the vehicle info again but I don't see how that's going to make any difference!
I recently ran into this problem with a different launch product. Do you know is it Chinese made are the American version? You can reach out to the customer service line and have them walk you back through it. Please be prepared it took about 3 weeks to get all the serial numbers to work correctly. But you have to be persistent with the customer service.

Just to add to Matthew's post, if it is Chinese version (meaning bought on eBay, Amazon, Launch USA will be of no help unfortunately.
Unfortunately that is a counterfeit scan tool. By any chance does the obd connector say “thinkdiag” or ”golo carcare”? Diagzone is a pirate app and server which lets you use obd Dongles that we’re not meant to support professional x431 software. This means you will not get any help from launch. If it’s been over a year need and had to reinstall you will have to pay for 1 more year from your third party to get it working again good Software.

Thank you for your replies! I'm sure it's pirated software which I purchased probably I think about 2 years ago for $350. I definitely won't do that again! And that's what I'm doing, reinstalling again. And if that doesn't work i'm going to scrap it and purchase a proper product!
