I’m working on this vehicle, was an intent of thief, IMMO box got broken along with the cylinder.
Call dealer, and part has been discontinued, I been looking around the internet with no luck, does anyone know where to get another immoboliser box? or does anyone know how to bypass the system.
There are tools that will disable skim in the pcm (I own a few) Did the circuit board break or just the antenna? It is possible to desolder the circuit board and transfer your circuit board into a used housing/antenna from a wrecking yard Otherwise replacement with a non-new skim module requires eeprom level programming to overwrite vin etc And a brand new module requires new keys and a…
Scott The circuit did not brake, so I try to transfer to the junkyard box, but one of the copper inserts came out of the circuit board, and now no matter what I do, I can not get it to work. If I could get my hands on a new module it will be ok, I have all the tools required to program the new box.
But as you said they are discontinued new So used is the only option other than disabling it And used is an eeprom job
If you have a cardaq with the toolbox software you can delete the skim from the pcm . Just unplug skim module and then do skim reset . I don't know if any rebranded drew tech interfaces will do it but the cardaq for sure. Or you can get a used one and edit vin with the im608 or dmax
Ricardo, this sounds super easy the way you said it. I have j2534 cardaq 3, and 2 Could you explain ore about the procedure? Im just thinking that if the skim module is unplugged, how do you reset it? I would think that would tell me that there is no communication with the module if it is disconnected.
After you unplug the skim module you open your drew tech toolbox 3 software and run the skim reset function, what it does is erase the skim bit in the pcm , after you follow the skim reset instructions disconnect the battery for 5 min, reconnect and you should be all set . Do not plug the skim module again. So now the car will run with any key( gray or black) that turns the ignition lock cylinder
Ricardo thanks a lot. I will perform this later today, and I will reply ack how it goes.
Ricardo have you had a condition where after doing skim reset and disconnecting the battery the pcm no longer starts the car? it was starting/stalling before doing the procedure. Happened to me on 2 different computers.
If you don't have the tools to do it and don't want to invest in them, I can delete immo for you but you will have to mail pcm. You may try some local mobile j2534 guys to if you know any.
Ricky, what tools do I need. I have most of the OE tools, plus a hand full of aftermarket scanners. Plus a few of j boxes.
You can try Drew technology tool box and unplug skim module and do a skim reset. It will disable it. I am not sure it will one this old though.
Ricky what are you using to do IMMO off function on chryslers? besides drew's skim reset application.
A temporary aid to get you out of a pinch on this vintage: Start the vehicle spraying carb clean into the air duct and keep it running that way for some 15+ seconds. The engine will then keep running and restart without further problem after shutdown. Once the battery is disconnected the magic fix will be gone and the procedure has to be repeated. You always could get an immobox from the…
Hello everyone, thanks in advance to all of you that give out your tips of knowledge. I try a couple of suggestions that were posted here, but unfortunately couldn’t get it to work. I went back and unsolder the small board from the broken IMMO box, and I solder on the used one that came from the used column, one of the antennas contacts came undone from the board, but I was able to jump a…
