No Updates

We do multiple Nissan CVT program it's a week.

Most of the 2012 and up Sentras and Altimas say there are no updates when I get to the programming screen but if I go to the website and insert the current calibration it shows an update available.

Had not recently downloaded any ne transmission calibrations. I thought the same newest calibratio file that is downloaded with engine calibrations would update the newest transmission calibration list but it is a different list. One i bought a transmission calibration almost every cvt shows a updated.

An important thing to remember is that if the CSV file is not up to date in the PC, it will not prompt for a new file, you should be checking each one for an update on the techinfo website.

Just quick question. Im mechanic , trying add key prox for 2008 nissan altima and fail now wont start because the first step is deleting the old key( i use auto pro pad). Did some research and someone say on older Nissan , antenna getting weak and sometimes it fail while programming . what should i do, which antenna should i look first and what tool to do this job. Many guys say the rear antenna…

As far as I know on CVT software there are no calibrations available for the aftermarket world, last time I try to do one of those with the help of the guys at AE tools and computers, they told me that Nissan won't let us do those calibrations just yet, Am no sure if they allow now but that happened to me last year, unless of course you have the Nissan original consult three tool.

This is untrue, there are many calibration updates, and the aftermarket can do all that the dealer can for updates. With NERS and a J2534 device the work support functions can not be completed, which is required to properly install a CVT replacement. BUT, with the Consult 3+ R2R software, and a Cardaq 3+ device you can! I have been doing Nissan CVT flashes for quite a few years too.

Hi Keith, The R2R Software and the Nissan Mongoose works as well for this task, just did one a few weeks back in a 2014 Infiniti even though the R2R coverage is 2018+.

Roberto that's absolutely not true. I do several every week. I can get the latest calibration files from Nissan's website. On the units that require IP Characteristic the file normally comes on CD with the trans. When it doesn't there is a way to generate it using the QR code on the trans and uploading to Nissan's website.

Ok guys, there is something to clarify here about the files availability from Nissan, is true they have the files and you can purchase it, on my case I wasn't able to use them or upload them to the TCM because I was using a J2534 box, and that was it, so yes you can buy the files and they sell them you just can't use any J box to upload them, that is the reason I said "unless you have a consult…

Robert, something is wrong with your configuration in programming, I don't know what it is. I use a Drew Tech Car Daq 2 plus for Nissan CVT transmissions, It works flawlessly. What J-Box are you using? What version of NERS are you using??

Roberto, Jamey is correct, the TCM updates can be installed with the latest version of NERS using almost any J2534 device.

Keith, are you and Jamey saying you can not just program the TCM, but do the actual separate calibration files also with a jbox? No consult 3 required for the calibration files? Can you do this for 13-up too?

I knew you could do updates (TCM or PCM) with a J-box, but thought the separate calibration files required a consult 3 plus. I read Mark's response and understand you can purchase the calibration files but was under the impression the only way to program calibration files (CD or from the Nissan website) into the vehicle was with a Consult 3 plus, especially on 13-up. Nissan had even stated this…

Yes, his too. Also Scott posted he did a 2013 Infiniti with the R2R Software even though it is listed as starting in 2018. The Cardaq 3 is really the best option if your going to do multiple platforms/manufacturers.

Roberto- Youre still wrong. Find a better Jbox or tech support, because the ones you are using now are steering you in the wrong direction(based on what you have said here) We use Cardaq and Drewtech and has always been trouble free.
