Temperature Plausibility

we just replaced the ac compressor and expansion valve by customer request, they want the ac to be colder. after finishing up I wanted to monitor ac live data, am unable to see actual value of the evaporator temp sensor with GDS2 or Autel im608. the GDS2 gives a warning about accessing values and the autel seems to not have an evap sensor live value option but shows some other odd values. does anyone have any input?

That seems real goofy on ambient air temp and windshield, would you say upper r air duct sensor could be close? How ever before you go much farther I think it would be advisable to to a thorough ac system inspection including, pressure readings and temps, be sure to check air flow at condensor , also you did not give us much info on what you did so far except replace parts per customer request…

Those values are off. Does the customer have cold air? Below say 45 degrees? I would not get to involved with what is going on with the data unless there are actual A/C related trouble codes. If the system is working ok then leave it alone and go on to your next project. Take Care.

Hi Raymond, Did you happen to evaluate the system pressures and temps before jumping into this project? Practically any AC system that can produce a 40 ambient degree difference at the vents compared to outside ambient is about the going standard I have seen for years. Vehicle AC systems were not designed to be a ‘freezer’. The average customer has no idea how the AC system works to begin…

Absolutely correct on Glenn's point. I do not even use my scanner unless there is a suspected issue that the scan tool can help me with. If the system pressures are good and your customer has cold air than leave the system alone. I am sure you did the vacuum and recharge by weight properly.
