2014 Volkswagen Touareg P0171 21232 WVGEP9BP8ED007922
Sets code when driving slow. Another tech had intake off recently. All fuel injectors except #3 were flowing evenly. #3 was adding +90. Smoked intake no leaks. Replaced #3 injector now at -50. Still setting P0171. Fuel pressures are within specs. Egr shows that it's closed. O2 was sooted up replaced. No change other then it takes longer to set light. Customer does not want to take it to the dealer due to emission software flash. I'm hoping somebody can point me in a direction.
Direction #1, don't drive slow. Direction #2 how about a VIN so we know what we are working on. #3, I prefer actual measurements, not a "within specs" statement #4, What software flash? Do you mean someone has changed the PCM from the factory programming? If so, why are you even working on it? If so, do you know what the programming change does and exactly how it does it? #5, Freeze frame…
WVGEP9BP8ED007922 No pcm hasn't been changed. Vehicle is under emissions recall Customer does not want it done. I'll get some data logs and post them.
I come back with a diesel with that VIN. Is that correct?
What type of scanner are you using, do you have access to a VAG. Do you have a scope?
Look I don't want to sound harsh here but! Who cares what the customer wants!!! You are about to put yourself in a position where you may be violating the law. Remember, you are tampering with emission control devices. Do be careful as to what and how far you go with this vehicle. At the end of the day the government will come after you not the customer.
Yes I have scope, Vag, Autologic Drive, Snapon & Autell Maxisys
