P0087 - Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low Bank 1

Vehicle presented with multiple codes and an interment engine performance issue. I attach initial code scan. Cleared code and P268 would return. Replaced fuel rail with pressure valve. Relearned adaptives. Upon driving, vehicle sputters and goes into limp mode with DTC P0087. Replace fuel filter with oe part. Still same condition. Jumped low pressure pump and maxes out at 55psi. Dropped fuel tank and inspected. Tank is clean and free of debris. I also attached freeze frame data for the P0087. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bill, this may simply be a failing high pressure pump. It appears the capture you sent was at full throttle acceleration and the rail pressure was 1489 bar, which is around 21000 psi. I would expect to see just about full pressure which should be around 29000 psi or 2000 bar or close to it. The pump probably can't keep up with demand anymore. Not sure if Autel will have it, but if you could get…

Bill Sounds like a bad high pressure fuel pump, ck the actual value and compare it with the (ME) requested value looks like pressure may be to low.

I agree. Sounds like a weak high pressure pump. If you replace it, check the cam lobe also

Hi Bill, My mind is with Qcv where the current is too low, the reading should be above 1A at higher rpm.

The in-tank fuel pump should be between 4 - 4.5 bar.
