So I tried to program the TCM as per transmission replacement but having trouble using old faithful launch j2534. So I get all the way to vehicle selection and I get an error code e4403 cannot read vin. Not sure where to go from there. It’s an old system using windows 7 but it has never let me down Today I can’t do anything with it. Tech support says I need to get new pc with windows 10 but not sure. Any ideas?
you are programming on Windows 7? I'm impressed, but yeah, it's time for a new PC and windows 10. We've been on windows 10 for 6 years now and a lot of the software from OEMs is written to the .net framework and libraries that are native in windows 10.
So o bought a new laptop that has windows 10. I downloaded the Jbox 3 app from drew technology and it downloaded successfull. I tried to open it and it says auto login It doesn’t give me the option to enter Jbox seri number it just kicks me and says my device is not compatible for Bluetooth. I can’t figure out how to disable Bluetooth so that I can proceed with Jbox setups so that I can continue…
Plug it in to USB to install drivers. It should have installed the MDI Manager when running SPS and have a pop up asking to select device when it starts.
I get all the way up to vehicle selection and as soon as I select Silverado it has an error message E4403 and kicks me out
Have you downloaded drivers for your jbox from launch
Yes but same thing. I get the failed auto login. device not compatible with Bluetooth
On the new laptop, yes sir. Tech support also uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times but no luck
Just a note: make sure all the firewall settings are off. The PC might be blocking some files from downloading. Also, make sure you've got an older legacy version of Java on-board, and not the latest and greatest. IE no longer works very well, so use Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. You can go into device manager and disable bluetooth devices as well. Should also be able to do it in Control Panel.
Thank you for those suggestions but I did all those things numerous times. Thnx though
I am running Win7 Pro 6.1 Build 7601 SP1 and I had the E4403 on 7/2/2021. I would select the vehicle, but afterwards it would not get to where it lets me select the actual interface to use. A popup is supposed to appear after vehicle selection. The problem was easily fixed by installing Microsoft Visual C++ (several different versions). AETOOLS dot US tech support sees this several times a day…
Had tech support all day today and no luck. Just saw your post Andrew and I tried to download the files you have circled in red. Didn’t finish and I did get ur phone message. Call you tomorrow for that email I just hope it works. So downloading those files you can still use windows 7?
… or … I could send you the files, or if you use VMWARE, I could send you the VMWARE image of my ACDELCO TDS laptop. I use VMWARE for all my diagnostic and programming programs. This allows me to have each program on its own virtual PC, that way different diagnostic packages don't interfere with each other. My image I use for ACDELCO TDS and SPS is a Win7…
