2005 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 2.5L (BGP) 5-spd (0A4)
No A/C

Has anyone had a problem finding the outside air temp. I looked for it right in front of the condenser on the driver side and no luck also found an online source saying close to the wiper motor, no luck. Tried looking for a loose wire with no luck

Is the data for the Ambient temp sensor showing -40* ? On the MK5 Jetta it should bein the area where you are looking. My experience tells me this car may have been in an accident and the sensor was ripped off and never replaced/installed. Look along the drivers frame rail, near where the core support mounts and runs up to the headlamp/battery area. see if there are two wires that are loose or…

The temperature moved down to the trip meter. 123 deg. in Houston? Just kidding brother. 100 here in Dallas. Hope you find the wiring. Have a blessed and safe week to you and your family.

It should be mounted by condenser. You may need to drive for a few miles to update temp reading after repairs. Mitch's info right on

I am working on a 2008 vw jetta 2.5 and the air temp sensor is in the lower part of the bumper.
