Vehicle came in with these codes in climate control module. I have no history on the vehicle. One of the codes is for module not coded. I have an Autel Maxisys so i went in under programming and coding and went through the coding procedure. The autel tool gave me 5 options of code. One of those worked. The a/c now works. But the sync button that syncs the driver temp to passenger temp does not work. When you press the button it comes up on the screen sync on than goes to sync off immediately. Does anyone know what could cause this? do i still not have quite the right 'code'? There are no trouble codes stored in the module at this point and a/c and everything works except the sync button. Thanks in advance. Sorry about my ignorance. I do not work on a lot of VWs and have never done coding before.

I done a 2013 with the same issue and faults, some how the Climatronic lost it's long coding. I coded it and and preformed the Basic Settings. If you did not preform the Basic Setting then that's what needs to be done. wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php…

I first coded it with launch and it was accepted then I tried to preform basic settings and I believe I was getting an error. The AC was still not working properly. I then used VCDS to preform basic setting and also it was failing. What I did next was to code and perform basic settings with VCDS and it completed successfully without issues. No VCDS screen shots at the moment they are on another…

my long coding matches that exactly. The workshop code is different. Not sure how important that is. And it only has 5 digits on workshop code. and doesnt allow you to add anymore.

IMO autel and launch have very similar software. I was able to code it with launch but something wasn't right about the coding since using VCDS to do the basic settings it was failing. It all worked properly when I did the long coding and basic setting with VCDS. So possibly your issue could be autel, I personally have not done any coding with autel so I am not sure. Also how to perform the…

You're likely going to need ODIS to turn off component protection. Component protection started around 2011-12 with the hvac modules before branching out to other systems. It ties modules to the car by VIN and prevents full functionality in a car the module does not belong to.
