El Camino Update
El camino up date , back probe computer , inspected wiring integrity .
replaced computer did not even start and ran , with original computer it ran poorly.(both injectors worked)
another computer , one injector driver not working , runs on 4 cylinders .
we will try a third computer.
Check the air cleaner spacer area of the TBI injector wires, they tended to rub through and create issues like you described.
Good call Glenn. When reinstalling the TBI injector wires, we were required to put a single twist in to shorten the injector harness so it didn't rub and chafe through on the sharp edges of the air cleaner spacer/PCV fresh air pipe adapter. There was a Service Manual Update (SMU) or info to that effect at the time.
