Escape Hybrid ABS programming
Hey guys! Had a question about final steps into programming a ABS module in a 2010 Escape Hybrid. Using FJDS I ran through the whole process and got a Successful Module Configuration. Then, i performed the Multi-Calibration using Snap-On versus scan tool. I thought I was finished but the ABS and Traction Control Light remain illuminated with no current codes on any module (complete module scan). The only memory code is the U2100:00 Initial configuration not complete, in the ABS module. Tried to run the module configuration several times with the old module and new module but with no change. FJDS also says the VIN isn’t programmed into ABS module?? Some say to run the Programmable Module Installation upon installment but it wasn’t listed in the FJDS so ended up going with Programmable Module and programming in that way. Any ideas of what I can be missing?
I usually use IDS or autel but you need to program it by doing programmable module installation or just enter the as built data from VIN. I'm sure FJDS can do one of the two.
Thanks for replying Jason. I think I’m gonna have to try AS Built option. We’ll keep you updated
By the way, I pulled up some As Build data from the Ford service website. It shows multiple sets of letters in a specific range; about 5 different combinations. Does it matter which way you go about it?? Never done AsBuild data before
The easiest way is to download the file and place it in the ford calibrations folder but if you need to enter it in manually you have to do it in its proper order. You'd start with 760-01-01 and enter the 1st block of numbers, second block then third block. Then your asked to start entering 760-01-02 all the way til your finished at 760-06-01.
Thanks a ton Jason for guiding me through this! Came in this morning and hooked up FJDS and went through As-Built for ABS. Typed in the numbers in sequence I found in FordServiceInfo and no more trouble lights! Verified proper vehicle operation and after code scan- no trouble codes pending. Thanks Jason!
Never saw that option in the factory scan tool or aftermarket??
In IDS is is under ABS . IVD relearn . I had two 2008 escape hybrids with ABS replacements that had trac control and abs lights till I ran IVD
Does it require a low speed test drive for all sensors to report in?
Nah, I've never had to do this on any older fords. Lights will be off after proper programming unless there is still active problems.
Hey Glenn. Thanks for replying. I thought the same…took the vehicle for a spin around town trying to duplicate all driving conditions but lights remained illuminated.
No codes after repeat key cycles? It should be reporting, but there could be a programming glitch. I have not had enough experience diving into those (yet).
you may have to end up using IDS. instead of FJDS my last post on here was incredibly similar with a PCM replacment. FJDS wouldnt let me complete the programming but IDS took me all the way Difference is we had an error code but, otherwise sounds close to ours.
Wanted to thank everyone who helped me get through this! Ended up going in As-Built data and typing in the ABS codes found in the Ford Service page. Vin is now programmed into ABS module and no more trouble lights illuminate. Thanks guys!
