2015 GMC Yukon XL 6.2L Cam/Crank Waveform
Hello, I am looking for a 2015 GM Yukon XL 6.2L good cam/crank waveform at idle. This engine does have VVT. I believe the base timing is off on this engine, but want to verify the cam/crank waveform so I can compare to my data. This P0016 (Cam/Crank Correlation) code appeared after the shop put a new OE camshaft & lifters into the vehicle. The vehicle seems to run fine and there are no misfires, but the code cannot be cleared and a crankshaft position relearn cannot be done either. Thank you.
Brian
Hi Brian, Did you install an OE camshaft? I have had trouble with aftermarket camshafts in the past, they are often not built to the exact specs as OE. Does a relative compression test show any differences between bank 1 and bank 2? The next thing to double check is the cam sensor reluctor, and connectors. If the engine is running well as you say, it could be a scrambled signal issue…
Glenn this is a 6.2 cam in block. There would be no bank to bank compression difference on this engine. Also the poster said an OE cam was installed.
Thanks Ray Yergeau! I verified your scope reading to the one I was checking and it was off one tooth. The shop re-did the timing and it is all good now. Thanks again! Brian
